Nam Ha Pharma Joins Hands in the Fight Against Tuberculosis on World TB Day 2025

On March 24, 2025, Nam Ha Pharma was honored to stand alongside the World Tuberculosis Day Commemoration Program, reaffirming our commitment to raising awareness and working towards eliminating tuberculosis (TB) – a disease that remains one of the biggest global health challenges.

The event, organized by the National Tuberculosis Control Program/Central Lung Hospital, brought together representatives from various ministries, organizations, and health departments from all 63 provinces and cities. It was a crucial opportunity for medical professionals, policymakers, and partners to exchange experiences, discuss challenges, and explore solutions to improve TB prevention and treatment across Vietnam.

The Program Features the Participation of Medical Experts

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health, highlighted the significant strides Vietnam has made in the fight against TB. In 2024, over 113,000 new TB cases were detected—a 7% increase from 2023—and the treatment success rate reached over 90%, surpassing the global average of 88%. These achievements reflect the collective efforts of healthcare workers, government initiatives, and supporting organizations.

However, despite this progress, TB remains a serious public health issue. According to the World Health Organization, Vietnam still reports around 182,000 new TB cases annually, with nearly 10,000 drug-resistant cases and 11,000 TB-related deaths each year. Vietnam ranks among the top 12 countries with the highest TB burden worldwide and top 10 for drug-resistant TB cases.
