Nam Ha Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (Nam Ha Pharma) held its 2023 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on April 29, 2023, which aimed for sustainable growth in the coming years.

The 2023 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders sets the goal of sustainable growth and reaching out to the world.

In 2022, Nam Ha Pharma focused on researching & developing new products, improving product quality and productivity through additional equipment and modern production machinery at the manufacturing facilities. The company’s authority also flexibly adjusted the business strategy in order to suit the market change through each period, proposed solutions to achieve target sales, and effectively managed the budget and controlled the price according to the budget plan approved earlier this year.

At the same time, Nam Ha Pharma was drastically restructured with the goal of innovate and reposition the company’s orientation in the market. As a result, Nam Ha Pharma continued to be in the VNR’s “Top 500 largest Vietnamese companies” and “Top 5 prestigious Vietnamese traditional pharmaceutical companies”, as well as having many products recognized as “Vietnam National Brand”.

Regarding business results in 2022, Nam Ha Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company achieved a total revenue of VND 1,011 billion (approx. USD 43.1 million), and maintain its position as one of the trillion VND enterprises in Vietnam profit after tax increased by 211.2% compared to the proposed plan.

After more than 60 years of development with more than 172 medicinal products, functional food, medical equipment and cosmetics, Nam Ha Pharma has been bringing trust to customers by providing quality products with reasonable price. The company’s distribution network is constantly expanding with more than 30,000 pharmacies across 63 provinces/cities in Vietnam. Nam Ha Pharma even export its products to foreign nations such as Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Russia, Bangladesh, and some African countries.

Nam Ha Pharma leaders presented business results in 2022 and strategy in 2023

Nam Ha Pharma’s orientation is to set a long-term goal for sustainable development in the coming years, which includes strengthening its internal resources, quickly stabilizing the organization and building a comprehensive protection system from personnel to infrastructure and product/sales team to create a fulcrum for the strategic development in the following years.

On that basis, the company will focus on implementing solutions to successfully complete the production and business plan in 2023, which is approved by the General Meeting of Shareholders, with a total revenue of VND 1,253 billion (approx. USD 53.4 million), an increase of 124% year on year 2022.

Nam Ha Pharma aims to complete re-evaluating all of its manufacturing facilities to meet all the requirements to produce GMP-WHO standard products, supply GMP for preliminary processing of medicinal herbs, invest in suitable lines for production demands and improve production capacity with a total investment of about VND 500 billion (approx. USD 21.3 million). The company also focuses on product research and development, as well as widening products distribution channels to consumers with a total investment of about VND 1,000 billion (approx. USD 42.6 million). Besides investing in domestic development, Nam Ha Pharma will also promote its brand reputation in Japan and Europe market.

Shareholders casted direct votes at the General Meeting

In order to prepare for the long-term goal of sustainable development with a vision of 2023 – 2028, Nam Ha Pharma plans to invest in such projects as the national medicinal plant growing area in Dien Bien province, with a scale of 300 hectares and an estimated total investment capital of 450 billion VND (approx. USD 19.1 million), along with other medicinal plant areas in Son La and some provinces in Central Highlands area (Gia Lai)… Besides, the bottled water manufacturing project and the project of installing extraction line of active ingredients from medicinal herbs using advanced international technology in Nam Dinh province are expected to be completed by 2023.

With the presented orientation and business strategy, Nam Ha Pharma’s authority believed that the company would overcome all challenges, continue to grow rapidly, and strive to become a leading pharmaceutical company in Vietnam, as well as being ranked in the top 10 largest pharmaceutical companies in the South East Asian region in the near future.
